DESIGN | BUILD: EDGE
4208 | New Construction
This new home anchors the uphill west edge of a terraced, street-to-street site in Magnolia. The structure is pushed to the north property line, preserving open space for a sunny southwest yard. A generous entry porch provides a covered outdoor space that expands interior living in both hot and rainy months. Living/kitchen/dining spaces are placed at the upper floor and sleeping spaces are tucked into grade below. Each floor is connected by a floating oak and steel stair that also acts as a light well.
Openings into the structure are strategically placed and screened to retain privacy from the adjacent home at the east side of site. Steel details will rust over time; cedar slats and fencing echo the irregular rhythm of the board and batt siding.
